For instance, Stanley Meyer claimed to have developed a water powered car during the seventies. However, when interviewed on how he did it, the answers given by him did not seem to be practical enough.

On one occasion, he claimed to use a water splitter by substituting spark plugs to use water as fuel. In yet another instance, he claimed to use fuel cells to separate hydrogen and oxygen which does not seem to be a practical technique. He was found to be guilty of fraud later on.
